Windstorm Damage – Benevolent Fund

Posted on by scottmaciver

Earlier this month, Gambia was met with an overnight windstorm (See Here), where a number of lives were sadly lost. In addition to the loss of life, many suffered severe damage to their homes.

Through funds raised at the Gambia Shop, The Gambia Partnership were able to send a Benevolent Fund to Grace Charity, Our Gambian Committee, in order to distribute funds to help some of those impacted by the storm.

The following video and photos were taken by Pastor Sylvester Konteh in Brikama, having delivered funds to one of the families who suffered damage from the storm. In this case, a large palm tree was blown over, through the blockwork and leaving a large hole in the roof, exposing the home to the elements, during this current rainy season.

The funds were gratefully received by the family. It serves as a reminder to supporters of the charity and customers of the Gambia shop of the impact that the funds raised have on those who are in need in Gambia.

“But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased” (Hebrews 13:16)
