Meet Alex Manga

My  name is Alexander M.S Manga,  l am a Jola by tribe and a Gambian by nationality who lives in Kanfenda village Foni Kansala District West Coast Region of The Gambia.

I was born and brought up from a Muslim background,  as a Muslim, I also learned the Arabic language and the Quran so that I would be able to know Allah and worship him in Muhammad’s name from my grade one until my grade eleven when I met with Abraham Jarju who introduced Christ to me. And since I believed in Christ and gave my life to him, persecution arose from every side of my life.

Since the day I gave my life to Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour, my biological parents left me,  some of brothers and sisters called me through their phones and told me that they are never my brothers and sisters and I am not their brother either. My father and his younger brothers and sisters my ( uncles and aunties ) stopped communication with me and all is Jesus Christ whom I gave my life to. My own mother doesn’t have my time and she is praying to Allah that I should be involved in an accident and die because I brought disgrace on her and for that reason, she said, she is not my mother and I am her son up to date.

I am married with two kids by God’s grace, my wife’s name is Awa J Manga, my child is Angel Michael Manga and the second one Success Joy Manga.  Before I got married, I took my wife to them as my parents to introduced her to them and told them that she is the one I want to marry and that one also became another thing because they were expecting me to marry a Muslim Lady.  And when they saw the Christian girl I said I want to marry they distanced themselves from me more than ever before so much that even my wedding and the naming ceremonies of my two kids they don’t attend.

Finally, the people that are staying under us are my wife’s younger sister, my brought up son from a Muslim background and Abraham Jarju whom God used to bring me to Christ. In conclusion, this is my beautiful wife and the kids that Christ Jesus gave me even though my people left me.

Please, also help me in praying for people that Christ Jesus will be known to them that they may come and join us to worship him.

Alex Manga is the newly appointed Mission Worker of the Gambia Partnership.
