Kabekel Christian School

Posted on by scottmaciver

After a wait of around 9 months, due to issues surrounding the release from the Port in Banjul, the shipping container sent from Stornoway, Scotland, to the Gambia has finally arrived in Kabekel Village!

The container was filled with school furniture and clothes, amongst other items kindly donated to the village. The furniture is intended to be used to furnish the new Christian school in Kabekel, the first phase of which is underway with the construction of two classrooms.

Aside from a nursery, the village is without a school. The Partnership are happy to direct funds to this worthwhile project, in order to provide a Christian education to the children of Kabekel.

The innovative design, provided to the Partnership by an engineering friend, will incorporate the container itself into the build. The container will serve as a corridor to the classrooms, whilst also including a small office.

It is hoped that the build will be expanded over time as funds become available.
