Jonathan Maciver – Chairman

I’m Jonathan, I’ve been involved with the charity since 2004 and was one of the group that went out initially to get a bit of perspective on life. I have a wife, Alison and a wee boy called Martin. Since 2004 I’ve been involved on the committee in organising trips and developing projects and relationships with the Partnership to the benefit of young people and families in the Gambia.

Scott Maciver – Vice Chairman

Having visited the Gambia for a number of years now, I have a great affection for the country and the people. I have made many friends since we began visiting the Gambia and look forward to seeing them each time we visit where we are always met with a warm welcome from old friends. It’s our desire to see the Gambia impacted with the Gospel.

Andy Cumming – Treasurer

Hi, I’m Andy and I’m the treasurer. I’m from Dumfries and became a Christian when I was 12. I’m married to Christine and we have a daughter, Maddy. We moved to Lewis in 2006. God willing, we hope that one day we will all go to The Gambia – we would love to meet the people and see the place for ourselves.

I feel privileged to be involved in a work with The Gambia Partnership that not only seeks to alleviate the poverty and distress of people in a physical way but also attempts to communicate the love of God to them as well.

Reuben Weedor – Support Worker

I personally trusted Christ as my LORD and Saviour in the early 1970s. I served in pastorate in two local churches from 1989 – 2002 in the Countries of Liberia and Ivory Coast . Of course, I got married in October 21, 1991 to Marie and have 7 children, 3 boys and 4 girls.

Over the years, I have truly experienced the goodness of the LORD in servitude of a pastor, a husband, and a father. Though the going has not been easy, yet the faithfulness of the LORD Himself has been proven unto me, for which I ever remain grateful to Him. For 14 years, since 1989, my life has been in struggle with civil war, which took the lives of over 200, 000 people of my native land, Liberia , West Africa . I fled in and out, at sometimes alone and at other times with my family from one country to another until I was evacuated by air in 2003 to come in the Gambia .
