About Us

The Gambia Partnership is a Christian charity registered in Scotland and run in partnership with Christians in The Gambia.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of visiting The Gambia will have experienced for themselves exactly why they call it ‘the smiling coast’. The people are amongst the friendliest you are likely to meet.

The Gambia is predominantly a Muslim nation with Muslims accounting for an estimated 90% of the population. Despite this, The Gambia is an open door for the Gospel. The Gambia is in great poverty, although its greatest need is the Gospel. There is great potential in The Gambia. The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few.

The main aim of The Gambia Partnership is to support Gospel work in The Gambia:

“Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

What we believe

As a Christian charity we are concerned with having a Biblical basis for each project we engage with. Our concern for The Gambia is not merely temporal but spiritual and eternal. For that reason we seek to prayerfully base all our efforts on the Word of God, so that many would come to know Christ savingly and serve Him faithfully.
